Why subscribe?
I started this page to document unique & underrated food & drink in San Francisco, as well as to begin a consistent writing practice publishing honest, comprehensive criticism of well-known kitchens. I intend this to be a critical celebration of chefs, kitchens and waitstaff that elevate and appreciate a complete dining experience in a city prone to capricious, often over-hyped trends. I believe it is the food critic’s duty to set context appropriately — these opinions are strictly my own & each dining experience is subject to a huge number of variables including my own unpredictable moods and the company I’m with — my palate leans heavy on the salt & acid — please take my writing with a grain of salt, pun intended. I won’t skimp on praise nor criticism, just as I won’t tolerate a kitchen that skimps on quality or flavor, in my quest to find the most consistent as well as the most experimental & unexpected dining in San Francisco.
